As the humanitarian crisis in Palestine worsened, our team faced a crippling funding shortage—a challenge plaguing many humanitarian organizations as global aid budgets declined by nearly 24% between 2022 and 2024. We had planned to expand our aid efforts to include reproductive health supplies for pregnant women and psychosocial support for survivors of violence, but without sufficient funds, these plans were at risk of collapsing. Over 123,000 pregnant Palestinian women needed urgent care, and 12,000 expected deliveries in the coming month meant our work was more critical than ever.

Our team launched a global fundraising campaign, working around the clock to reach out to donors, share stories of the Palestinian people’s suffering, and highlight the impact of their contributions. We faced countless rejections, with many donors citing domestic fiscal constraints and shifting priorities. Undeterred, we partnered with local NGOs and used social media to amplify our message, sharing videos and photos of the communities we had helped. After six weeks of relentless effort, we raised enough funds to purchase reproductive health kits, hire local healthcare workers, and expand our psychosocial support program. Today, we provide monthly check-ups for over 300 pregnant women and counseling for survivors of gender-based violence, a crisis that has surged amid overcrowding and poverty in displacement camps.
